During my time as a special educator, I had to write numerous documents that involved technical writing skills. To best support my team, I created a template that could be individualized by inserting information and selecting from drop down menus.

To help my team keep track of annual due dates, I created this tracker. I would host monthly meetings to schedule the parent meetings for these reports. This ensured that my team stayed in compliance in regard to timelines and prevented us from double-booking ourselves.

Scheduling was a huge role in my previous job. Not only did we have to create a schedule, but that schedule had to coordinate with multiple stakeholders’ schedules as well. I created this template during remote work to support my team. My supervisors saw its effectiveness and now is mandatory for all special education teams in the school district.

When our school moved to a distance learning model, I created a virtual classroom. This provided my students with a hub of resources that they could use at any time. Some of the items in the classroom contained links to other websites they might have needed.
